Welcome to My Public Adjusting Website!

Thank you for visiting my Website!  For those of you who know me have a look around and feel free to provide feedback. For those of you who don’t know me yet, I am a Public Insurance Adjuster licensed in Pennsylvania. A Public Adjuster is an advocate for home and business owners who have property damage.

I help people  get money from their insurance to pay for repairs. I have been a Public Adjuster for three years and have helped many people. Helping people has always been a passion of mine. That passion is what makes me successful in my business. Too many times I hear from people who are in a situation where they feel helpless or taken advantage of. A lot of times they are frustrated with the claims process. I can make that process easier. By handling all of the headaches, phone calls and letter writing, and also dealing with the insurance company and the adjuster, I take the burden off the home or business owner so that they can get back to what is important to them…their home or business and their lives!

Thank you again for visiting my site, and  I do hope you will come back from time to time to see what is new!

I am proud to service the Pocono Mountain and Slate Belt regions for the past 3 years.  If you, or anyone you know has a current or closed insurance claim, please contact me at 570-730-8607.

After learning exactly what a Public Adjuster does and how important their work is, it’s important for everyone who carries any type of property insurance to contact Michelle and learn more about how she can help protect you prior to a claim and how she can assist you if you experience a loss. This is invaluable! A policy evaluation is one of the best FREE services i’ve seen professionally, period!

Michelle; If someone has had a claim that was paid by the insurance company already, closed or not… what are the chances they got ALL the money they should have and should they call you to review the closed claim?

Anyone who feels they didn’t receive a fair settlement or fair treatment should call. It is always a good idea to have that second look. The fact is insurers typically pay only 30-60% of what repairs will cost (according to Bloomberg). Most people think that once they receive a check or have signed it that they are locked in and must accept that figure as final settlement, and this is simply not true.

I had read somewhere that the insurance companies only pay 25 to 40 cents on the dollar for what is owed on any particular claim. Is this accurate?

  5. michelle says:

Yes that is true and that fact can be checked through Bloomberg, the source of their information is from court cases and complaints through the Insurance Departments by State.

It is in an insurer’s best interest to payout as little as possible since their responsibility is to their stockholders. Insurers have made record profits since and in spite of losses from storms such as Hurricane Katrina. Insurers are most concerned about their bottom line rather than the people they insure.

  6. Hello Michelle,

Are there any insurance companies whose financial responsibility is to their customers rather then to their shareholders?

  7. michelle says:

Typically a Mutual Insurance Company is best, but understand an Insurance Adjuster has an obligation to represent the insurer. What a homeowner really wants is an agent that they have an excellent relationship with. The key to having the proper coverage begins with that relationship. They have to spend the time necessary to ensure that anything they may need is in place rather than doing an apples to apples comparison just to save money.

Thanks for the advice on credit repair on this excellent web-site. What I would offer as advice to people would be to give up the mentality they can buy right now and pay later. Being a society most of us tend to make this happen for many issues. This includes trips, furniture, plus items we really want to have. However, you’ll want to separate your current wants out of the needs. When you’re working to boost your credit score make some sacrifices. For example you’ll be able to shop online to economize or you can check out second hand shops instead of high priced department stores pertaining to clothing.

  11. Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and everything. But think about if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this website could certainly be one of the greatest in its niche. Awesome blog!
